23 April 2020
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, all construction work on the Earls Gate Energy Centre has been temporarily suspended.
All construction activity on site ceased on 9 April 2020. The site was locked down safely and remains secure while work is halted.
The decision was made to protect the health and wellbeing of our employees, co-workers and community and is in line with the Scottish Government’s latest Coronavirus Construction Industry Guidance issued on 6 April.
The site is closed but project activities such as process and civil design, procurement and global project management continue remotely where it is safe and possible. The recruitment and procurement processes remain active but action may be limited until the site reopens.
Prior to site closure, only essential construction continued on site in limited areas and measures were taken to maintain adequate social distancing and comply with government guidelines.
The project team will continue to monitor the situation but for now the site will remain closed until guidance changes and construction can restart.
